Manchester City have seen several familiar faces leave during a summer of major change, with Rodri joining Barcelona, Bernardo Silva moving to Real Madrid and John Stones departing for Inter Milan.
The attacking ranks have also been altered, with Omar Marmoush and Sávio both heading to Tottenham Hotspur.
Sávio was not always a guaranteed starter at the Etihad, but his departure leaves another attacking spot for Enzo Maresca to address.
The City boss now appears to have identified a familiar Premier League name as a possible replacement.
Man City Want Ndiaye to Replace Sávio
Manchester City have identified Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye as a potential replacement for Sávio, according to The Guardian.
Maresca is keen to add another attacking option and is understood to be an admirer of the Senegal international, who has established himself as an important figure at Everton since arriving at Goodison Park.
The 26-year-old has made 44 appearances for Senegal and remains under contract with the Toffees until 2029. Everton, however, are believed to value him at around £80 million, meaning City would need to make a sizeable investment to prise him away.
Ndiaye has developed into one of the Premier League’s more dangerous wide players, scoring nine goals during his first campaign in England before contributing six goals and three assists last season.
His versatility and ability to create opportunities from wide areas could make him an appealing replacement for Sávio, particularly with Maresca looking to reshape City’s attack.
Ndiaye has also been praised by Everton teammate Vitalii Mykolenko, who described the Senegal star as “skilful”.
City have already agreed a £34 million deal for Palmeiras winger Allan Elias and are monitoring Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, but Ndiaye could represent the more established Premier League option as Maresca continues his recruitment drive.
