According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, via AS, Man City are willing to offload wantaway defender Eric Garcia for as little as £4.5 million ‘plus variables’ in January with a move to Barcelona inevitable this year – coming after the Sky Blues rejected a £15.4 million bid plus add-ons for the 20-year-old last year.
The Spaniard, as backed up by reliable source Fabrizio Romano, looks all but set to complete a move back to La Liga in 2021 – with the transfer guru saying this is ‘totally confirmed‘.
Due to his contract situation, which expires at the end of this year, City could face losing him for nothing at the end of this season with Barcelona potentially signing him as a free agent.
As a result, the club and sporting director Txiki Begiristain are seemingly eager to negotiate a January deal – so much so that Mundo Deportivo report that they have lowered their asking price to a meagre £4.5m.
In response to this development, especially considering City had the opportunity to sell for £15.4m, many Sky Blues erupted at this news after Man City Xtra relayed it on social media.
