According to an exclusive report from the Sun, Manchester United have made a £30 million bid for exciting Birmingham City prospect Jude Bellingham as they aim to close off the January transfer window with a bang despite so far failing to land priority target Bruno Fernandes (A Bola) – prompting many Red Devils supporters to rage at the news.
Bellingham, who the Sun dubbed ‘England’s most exciting talent since Wayne Rooney’, has been turning heads with his impressive performances in the Championship for the Midlands side. Despite only scoring once every 377 minutes on average (SofaScore), the 16-year-old has still put in noteworthy displays – amassing a 76.2% pass success rate whilst completing 2.1 tackles per game and 1.1 shots on average, as per WhoScored.com.
In comparison to current Red Devils midfield man Jesse Lingard, who has bettered Bellingham’s pass accuracy (87%) but fails to eclipse his shots (0.9) and challenges (0.8), it appears the youngster could potentially be a decent addition provided he continues to grow in a less skilful division. If this report is to be believed, however, United have tabled a £30 million offer for the teenager’s signature, which some Red Devils fans believe is far too much taking their pursuit of Fernandes into account.
