Manchester United: Diogo Dalot image in training camp has supporters praising defender

Responding to an emerged image on social media from Diogo Dalot’s Instagram account, Manchester United supporters have flocked to Twitter in order to hail the defender – with one fan even claiming that he is ‘better than Wan-Bissaka‘ going forward.

Dalot, who was pictured training at United’s rumoured winter camp in Marbella, has barely been given a look-in by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this campaign – starting just two Europa League matches and once all season in the Premier League. This could partly be down to the form of summer signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with Dalot playing far more regularly last campaign with 12 league starts.

By comparison, his English teammate has amassed 22 starts for United this season, missing just three Premier League games. When it comes to statistics, Wan-Bissaka has averaged a superior 4 tackles per game on average but hasn’t managed the same amount of interceptions as Dalot (2.5) in the Europa League. Going forward, when playing fairly regularly for United back in 2018/2019, Dalot averaged more key passes (1.1) than the former Crystal Palace defender has this season (0.8), as per WhoScored.com.
