Manchester United fans are calling for Diogo Dalot to start versus Astana in the club’s opening Europa League game of the season.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the young right-back has recovered from his hip injury and trained with the squad this morning.
Dalot, 20, suffered the hip injury during the club’s pre-season and was even sent to Shanghai SIPG to recover from the injury with the help of “miracle-working physiotherapist” Eduardo Santos (via BBC).
Dalot signed for the north-west club from Portuguese side Porto for a fee believed to be £19m last summer. The young fullback made 25 appearances in all competitions in his debut season at Old Trafford last campaign (via Transfermarkt).
Fans seemed thrilled at the return of the Portugal youth international as they took to Twitter to ask Solskjaer to play the young defender in tomorrow’s game.
