Manchester United: Fans in disbelief after Fred is overlooked in nominations for MOTM award

Manchester United fans were in disbelief after Fred was overlooked in the nominations for the man of the match award following the club’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

The Brazilian was in brilliant form for the Red Devils as he notched up the most passes, the second-most tackles and the joint-most interceptions during the 90 minutes (via WhoScored).

Fred hasn’t always been a favourite at Old Trafford as he was lambasted by club legend Roy Keane, who dubbed him a ‘cheat’ for not tracking back during last season’s Manchester derby against rivals City (Sky Sports via The Independent).

However, he has enjoyed something of a resurgence this season and has started the last eight Premier League games for the north-west club (via Transfermarkt)

Fans were firmly on the side of the Brazil international as they took to Twitter in disbelief he wasn’t nominated for the man of the match award.
