Manchester United fans on Twitter are showing Smalling plenty of love right now

Manchester United have improved in more ways than one under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Attackers such as Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are flourishing, while Paul Pogba looks like an absolute boss in midfield.

Meanwhile, defensively, the Red Devils have been just as good since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho in the Old Trafford dugout with Chris Smalling playing his part at the heart of the back four.

Alongside Victor Lindelof, who has been just as solid, Smalling has helped form a strong central defensive partnership, one that looks much better than anything top four rivals Chelsea or Arsenal have had to offer in recent weeks.

Ultimately, if Lindelof and Smalling can maintain their form while the likes of Rashford and Martial continue finding the back of the net, Manchester United should have enough about them to clinch that final Champions League qualification spot.
