Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to slam Victor Lindelof for his performance following their 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils started the game well at the St. Mary’s Stadium and found themselves ahead after just ten minutes when Daniel James continued his fine start to life at the club with his third goal in four matches (Transfermarkt).
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were unable to keep their fast-paced start going and found themselves pegged back with around 30 minutes of the game to go when Jannick Vestergaard rose above everyone else in the penalty box and fired a header past a helpless David De Gea (Sky Sports).
Fans appeared to be disappointed on Twitter with the final result, as many of them seemed to highlight the poor showing from Victor Lindelof as one of the reasons for their failure to secure all three points.
Rio Ferdinand slammed the Sweden international for his role in the goal whilst on punditry duty for BT Sport. He said (via The Metro): “Lindelof is the main culprit here. It’s a case of personal pride. They both have to say ‘have I done enough there?’ If Lindelof gets tight earlier on, Vestergaard can’t get a run on him.”
Indeed, it appears many of the club’s faithful on social media had the same viewpoint as the former centre-back, with plenty of them claiming the 25-year-old is not good enough to continue playing for them.
Here are just some of those reactions…
Thoughts on draw:
– Another game without a clean sheet
– Pogba and Rashford terrible
– Lindelof looks nervous this season
– AWB is like the great wall of China
– James at LW > James at RW
– Pereira isn’t good enough
– Our players can’t pass a simple ball
– Spineless performance— Aidan Walsh (@AidanWalshMUFC) August 31, 2019
Twice in two games that Lindelof has lost a challenge in the air and it has cost us.

Points at FT:
– Utd should have won that comfortably
– So naive in attack
– Dan James fantastic, Greenwood lively
– Lindelof poor for equaliser
– Pogba and Rashford absolutely awful
– Utd missed Shaw on the left
– Haven’t won away since PSG, no wins since Chelsea pic.twitter.com/QhaFM88c9d— The Peoples Person (@PeoplesPerson_) August 31, 2019

Can we all just agree that Victor Lindelof is a squad player at best?

Lindelof, Rashford, Lingard should be dropped permanently from the starting 11 if we really are being serious..
