After drawing 0-0 with Wolves in the FA Cup on Saturday, Manchester United had been linked with 17-goal forward Raul Jimenez and midfielder Ruben Neves, as per a report from Goal, but senior sources at the club have since come out to deride the speculation, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Jimenez, who has bagged 11 goals in both the Premier League and Europa League so far this campaign, has been in great form since he penned a loan deal at Molineux back in 2018 – prompting the club to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer for a club-record £30 million fee.
As a result, he was mooted as a target by Goal to finally replace Romelu Lukaku, who left for Inter Milan over the course of the summer.
The Belgian target man left in the summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side having to make do with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood in the forward roles – appearing to lack proper out and out strikers, which was discussed by former manager Jose Mourinho while working as a pundit on Sky Sports earlier this season.
In comparison to Jimenez, Rashford has scored 13 goals in both Europe and the Premier League whilst Greenwood and Martial have a combined total of 16 in the same competitions – showing that the Red Devils do possess firepower, perhaps why they have taken the stance on Jimenez that M.E.N reports.
Regardless, that hasn’t stopped United supporters from slamming these ‘senior figures‘ at the club for their stance on going for Jimenez – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
But Ed Woodward keeps acting like Phil Jones.

This football club is a joke

Listen, #mufc officials will laugh at any transfer news. Simply because they have no intention/plans of buying any players. Small chance they will buy anyone in summer – because “the right players are not available”.

You can put that for any links. Not just Raul Jimenez. Useless board

THEY LAUGH AT THE CONCEPT OF EVEN BEING LINKED TO A PLAYER, THIS CLUB IS FINISHED
