Thuram, described as ‘a little crazy’ by former team-mate Denis Zakaria, is out of contract with Monchengladbach at the end of the season, and it seems as if United are making their move over a potential winter window deal.

Sports Witness relayed an update from La Repubblica regarding Thuram in the last 48 hours. The report claims that Inter Milan have offered Thuram a four-year deal worth €5m-a-year plus bonuses, but they say that is lower than the proposal made by Old Trafford officials.
United are seen as ‘favourites’ for a transfer and are hoping to finalise an immediate January move in the coming weeks with Monchengladbach wanting a €15m fee.
The Verdict: Fingers crossed
The club could really do with adding to their attacking ranks this month ahead of a busy second half of the season, and Thuram may well prove to be an ideal signing. The 25-year-old is valued at €32m by Transfermarkt and is primarily a centre-forward who can even play out wide.
He has contributed to 13 Bundesliga goals in 15 appearances in recent months, so appears to be in fine form. The club could pip the likes of Inter Milan and Bayern Munich to a transfer, which would also add to the feel-good factor at Old Trafford.
