Marcus Rashford’s resurgence at Barcelona has been one of the stories of the season.
The 28-year-old joined the La Liga giants on a 12-month loan from Manchester United last summer, with Barca holding an option to make the move permanent in 2026 for around £30.3m (€35m).
On the pitch, Rashford has been electric. He has racked up 10 goals and 13 assists across all competitions, playing a key role as Barcelona push towards another La Liga title and aim to go deep in the Champions League.
While it remains unclear whether the Catalans will activate their purchase clause, his form has only strengthened the belief that his future lies away from Old Trafford regardless, following a fractured end to his United career.
With Rashford’s long-term situation unresolved, United are already surveying the market — and one standout name has emerged as a potential successor.
United Want Ndiaye
Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye is rapidly cementing his reputation as one of the Premier League’s most effective attacking threats, and his performances have not gone unnoticed ahead of the summer window.
The Senegal international, who has been described as “outstanding” by David Moyes, has been a consistent bright spot at Goodison Park.
His direct running, creativity and end product have reportedly caught the attention of several elite clubs, with Caught Offside reporting that Manchester United are among those keeping a close watch.
Ndiaye, 25, also arrives with pedigree on the international stage, having lifted the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal earlier this year. Despite the growing speculation, he remains under contract at Everton until 2027 after committing his future to the club in 2024.
Addressing the transfer talk, Ndiaye acknowledged the links without fuelling an exit, saying: “If clubs like Manchester United are interested, it means I’m doing something right.”
While Ndiaye has stressed his focus remains on Everton, his comments suggest he is clearly aware — and encouraged — by the interest from a club of United’s stature. With Rashford’s long-term future increasingly uncertain, the AFCON winner’s blend of Premier League experience and upward trajectory makes him a realistic and intriguing option should United decide to move on this summer.
