According to a report from the Athletic, Bournemouth striker Joshua King has been left frustrated and ‘messed about‘ by Manchester United’s lack of a third bid during deadline day of the January transfer window – with the Red Devils opting instead to pursue Odion Ighalo’s signature.
King, who was rumoured to be making his way back to former club United as part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s search of a striker (The Sun), finds himself still at Bournemouth after the club decided not to negotiate his transfer any further. The Norway international, as a result, has been left ‘disappointed‘ by the dealings – with a return to Old Trafford so close but now so far. However, the 28-year-old’s feelings over missing out on a move hasn’t warranted any sympathy from this section of Red Devils fans – with one in particular branding their former academy product a ‘Norwegian Lingard‘.

Despite both men playing in different positions, King appears to possess superiority in shots (1.1), key passes (1.1) and dribbles per game (2.3) while Lingard has racked up a much better 87.2% pass success rate in the league, as per WhoScored.com.
