Fabrizio Romano has revealed that PSV winger Cody Gakpo is still on Manchester United’s list of targets.

Gakpo, called a 'sensational player' by football-oranje.com editor and Dutch football expert Michael Bell, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford this month.

Sky Sports claimed last week that the Red Devils were ‘ready to move’ for the 23-year-old, who is valued at £35m.

The club’s priority has since turned to a move for Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro, and with a deal progressing well, it looks as if United chiefs are also exploring their other targets alongside the work on the Brazilian.

The Latest: Romano’s post

Romano took to Twitter late on Thursday evening to provide some more United transfer news.

He claimed that Gakpo is still on the list at Old Trafford after a suggestion from Erik ten Hag. Romano added that a move for the Dutchman could be ‘cheaper’ than one for Ajax’s Antony.

The Verdict: Get it done

Gakpo has just come off his best season in front of goal, scoring anywhere across the front three, so a move to United could be a shrewd piece of business.

United have lacked quality in front of goal this season and are short of attacking options on the right, so Gakpo could be the injection of quality in the final third that is desperately required at Old Trafford.
