Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has dropped a transfer update involving new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

The Lowdown: Ten new signings?

The Red Devils have had a season to forget, with all focus now on Ten Hag’s first campaign in charge at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman has signed a deal through to 2025 to take over from Ralf Rangnick, who will move into a consultancy role alongside managing Austria’s national side.

Rangnick previously stated that up to ten players could arrive over the summer, and it looks as if plans will be finalised before the month is out.

The Latest: Romano’s post

Romano took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to provide an update on United’s director of football negotiations Matt Judge, who is set to leave this summer.

The transfer expert then added that Rangnick has already made a start when it comes to possible signings, however, Ten Hag will make the final decision on targets ‘in the coming weeks’.

The Verdict: Ten Hag gets his way

Prior to taking the job, Ten Hag demanded to be 100 per cent involved when it came to new signings, outgoings and fresh contracts, so it looks as if he has got his way following this update from Romano.

It appears as if he will have the last call on potential additions, and it will be interesting to see which areas of the pitch he views as a priority this summer once he has sat down with Rangnick.

A new defensive midfielder and a centre-forward could be high on his wish-list, especially with Nemanja Matic and Edinson Cavani set to leave for nothing, so after he finishes the season with Ajax, expect a busy few months in regards to United transfers.
