Manchester United have reportedly made an offer to Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko.

The Lowdown: New striker on the radar?

The Red Devils are yet to add to their attacking ranks this summer and began their first Premier League game under Erik ten Hag with attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes in a central role.

Cristiano Ronaldo started on the bench and Anthony Martial was ruled out through injury, highlighting a lack of attacking depth at Old Trafford.

Players who have been linked with a move to United are Sesko - who has been hailed as ‘really mature’ by journalist Josh Bunting despite being just 19 years of age - and Marko Arnautovic, and it looks as if offers are on the table for both forwards.

The Latest: Offer tabled

Sport Witness relayed an update from Slovenian outlet Sportklub on Sunday, looking at United and Sesko.

They claimed that the forward is yet to decide on his future but that he is leaning towards accepting one of the offers made, one of which being from Manchester United, in the coming days.

The Verdict: Fingers crossed

The Red Devils really need to get a move on with time ticking until the deadline, and they have invested time when it comes to Sesko following more than one meeting with his agent, so hopefully Old Trafford will be his next destination.

The teenager has already netted twice in just three games this season and looks like a real star of the future, with Ryan Taylor describing him as a “generational talent”.

The likes of Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid were also name-checked in the latest report with offers for Sesko, so United winning the race ahead of such prestigious competition would have to be seen as a major coup.
