De Jong is well known to fans of the Premier League as a result of his three year stint at Manchester City, where he often showcased his ‘bulldog’ style of play, and tough tackling abilities.
The 30-year-old’s contract with the Serie A club expires in he summer, meaning United could potentially sign the midfielder on a free transfer, but would have to pay a pretty significant salary to land the Dutch International.
Red Devils fans over by the bar here inside the Football Transfer Tavern feel he would be a good addition to the squad, but feel the touted wage bill is way too big!
