Manchester United potentially in line for another blow after Chelsea loss

Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been licking their wounds today after their elimination from the FA Cup at the hands of Chelsea last night.

It was a very tightly contested affair and, in the first half at least, United were more than matching the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

The game changed, though, when Ander Herrera was given his marching orders and from there the Blues went on to win 1-0.

Indeed, it was a pretty tempestuous game and the likes of Marcos Rojo could be in trouble for his part in it – according to The Manchester Evening News.

The Argentine appeared to stamp on Eden Hazard during the game, something referee Michael Oliver was not aware of at the time, and could now face retrospective action.

Indeed, it’s ironic that only recently Tyrone Mings was given a retrospective five-game ban for a stamp of his own on Zlatan Ibrahimovic and so it’ll be interesting to see how long Rojo gets, if anything at all.

Time to sweat for Jose Mourinho, then, as he plans to get the club in the top four by May.
