Mark Goldbridge has hailed the impact of Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane after the EFL Cup final win, describing him as ‘unbelievable’.

That winning mentality was priceless on Sunday, as he and Casemiro used all their vast experience to help manage the game, rarely allowing Newcastle to lay a glove on them.

Varane’s partnership with Lisandro Martinez has been a key reason for United’s success this season and the 93-cap France international can continue to be a key man for several years to come, with his current deal not expiring until 2025.
