The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are still celebrating yesterday’s victory over Arsenal.
Man United travelled down to London to take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium and a fast start saw them go 2-0 up early courtesy of goals from Antonio Valencia and Jesse Lingard.
Arsenal hit back shortly after half time through Alexandre Lacazette but Jesse Lingard scored a third to seal a 3-1 win despite Paul Pogba’s red card.
Yesterday’s game was also a good chance for Jose Mourinho to run the rule over one of his top transfer targets for the future.
According to a report by The Telegraph, he wants to bring Mesut Ozil to Old Trafford next summer.
Ozil is currently in his last year of his Arsenal contract and this is worrying the Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern.
They risk losing him for free if they do not cash in this January and he does not sign a new deal.
Manchester United are looking to exploit his contract situation and snap him up when he becomes a free agent in the summer.
The German international’s future at Arsenal looks increasingly uncertain as this contract saga runs on.
And Mourinho is a big admirer of the 29-year-old as he looks to address his number 10 position.
