Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been delighted with what they’ve seen so far this season from their club with them playing some good football.
For sure, the Old Trafford outfit looks to be getting its old swagger back and that could just be ominous for the rest of the league who have seen it become easier to play them over the past few years.
Indeed, Jose Mourinho has assembled a powerful looking side with a bit of much needed pace, too, but we think he could still turn the speed factor up in his starting line-up with one more top class signing.
Indeed, we reckon he should go after Jordi Alba from Barcelona as the Catalan club continues to soul-search in what’s been a difficult period for them.
Of course, it’s easy to just say United should sign a player of Alba’s quality – any side would want him – but there is real cause to suggest United could do it.
The Red Devils have obviously got the financial clout to pull it off whilst they also need a left-back who’s going to perform right at the top level – there’s still too many question marks over Daley Blind and Luke Shaw right now.
And, with Barcelona looking inferior to Real Madrid this season the Spaniard might just feel it’s time to take on a new challenge elsewhere meaning United should seriously test the water.
