The summer transfer window will soon be upon us once again and one club who always seem to be active in the market are Manchester United, who will be keen to make the relevant moves and attempt to close the gap on rivals City.
Jose Mourinho has already spent a fair chunk of money since taking the reins at Old Trafford, but it would appear it’s not been enough, and our landlord here at the Tavern thinks that the club simply need to sign proven, quality players in order to catch up with City.
The punters seem to be in agreement too, and after seeing Zlatan move on to LA Galaxy a few months back, United are left really with only one recognisable number nine in their squad in the form of Romelu Lukaku.
However, there are plenty of strikers out there who can come into Old Trafford and do the business, and we’ve taken a closer look at TWO strikers who Manchester United should be targeting this summer…
Karim Benzema

The Real Madrid forward has long been rumoured for a move to the Premier League but has never seen such a transfer materialise for differing reasons.
Benzema though is a proven goalscorer and commodity in the European game, and he is running out of time if he is to make his dream of playing in England come true.
A player of the highest order, Benzema would bring pace, sharp movement, and excellent finishing ability to a club already brimming with attacking talent.
Harry Kane

It might seem inconceivable that Spurs would allow their biggest asset to leave and join Man United, but the Red Devils will not be put off if they do fancy adding Kane to the squad.
A proven goal machine in the Premier League over the course of the last few seasons, Kane will eventually want to start winning trophies, something which keeps eluding him at Spurs.
Many have tipped Kane over the years as the ideal United striker, and if Jose Mourinho really did want to make a big splash this summer, then spending big on Kane could be the perfect way to do so.
