The Daily Star have Manchester United fans looking up with huge grins on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it seems the publication think Louis van Gaal is ready to hand a chance to James Wilson.
The young forward has seen his time on the field rationed this season but now with Robin van Persie facing a month on the sidelines when United have some crucial fixtures that could well make or break their Champions League hopes, Van Gaal is prepared to turn to Wilson.
The Manchester United boss spoke about possibly playing Falcao and Wilson together and drew comparisons between RVP and the starlet, claiming: ‘They (Falcao and Wilson) haven’t played so much together, I believe once or twice.
‘You can see that Wilson is also left-footed like Van Persie and Falcao is right-footed.’
We think that Wilson has the ideal chance to prove himself now with Van Persie being out – and a stellar performance between now and the end of the season could well see Van Gaal reassess his comments made earlier in the month about sending Wilson out on loan next term to develop his talent further.
