Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero could be in line for his first Premier League appearance of the season if David de Gea isn’t available for Sunday’s match at home to Liverpool.
The Spain ‘keeper went off injured in his country’s 1-1 draw in Sweden last night, with his national team coach Roberto Moreno confirming afterwards that the 28-year-old suffered a muscle abductor injury, as per Manchester Evening News.
BBC claimed that De Gea could be doubtful for United’s upcoming fixture against the Premier League leaders this weekend, with United Xtra (@utdxtra) on Twitter describing his potential absence as a “huge blow”.

If he isn’t fit for the Liverpool game, Romero seems likeliest to take his place, with the 32-year-old Argentina international playing two matches so far this season (one each in the Carabao Cup and Europa League), whereas Lee Grant has yet to feature.
Romero has a very solid record in his time at Old Trafford, with 28 clean sheets and only 23 goals conceded in his 46 appearances for the club, as per TransferMarkt.
