French publication RMC Sport reported [via Sport Bible] that the 56-year-old was offered the vacant manager’s job at Lyon by their president Jean-Michel Aulas, but Mourinho turned down the position as he wants to return to the Premier League, with his family continuing to reside in England.
Manchester United fan channel The United Stand addressed the news on its Twitter account @UnitedStandMUFC.
He clearly wants to come back to United
Imagine if this was all a giant elaborate point being made my Jose.
In truth he probably wants the Spurs job. https://t.co/hKmdfVWmMQ

I’d take him back in a heartbeat. People can say he played boring football but that’s what it took to get something out of the rubbish squad he had

Would take him at United again after all he is the special one

Bring him back. I’m not even kidding.

I’d take him back, but only if he was going to be given 200+ million next summer to spend on whoever he wants and was able to sell the players he wants, which wouldn’t happen

I’ll gladly take back mou with full hands
