The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for the club to make a few transfer announcements over the coming weeks. It has been a quiet January so far for the Citizens, though that was not unexpected.
Pep Guardiola’s men have been near perfect so far this season, and in truth, it’s tough to see a single position that needs improvement within the Spaniard’s squad.
The priority for the club, then, is likely to ensure that the squad remains together. They’re on a roll at the moment, and a major departure of any kind could be enough to cause problems at the Etihad.
It’s no less than the Brazilian deserves, having really impressed this season. He has always been key since moving to the club, but he has been at the centre of everything through the middle of the park under Pep Guardiola, providing a defensive and powerful option for an otherwise technical squad.
Unsurprisingly, the Citizens over on Twitter have been celebrating this news, with supporters touting it as ‘massive’.
