Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments about 23-year-old Aleksandar Mitrovic. Mitrovic joined Fulham on loan on deadline day of the recent January transfer window and after registering a brace last night in Fulham’s 3-0 win over Sheffield United, Blades boss, Chris Wilder was shocked that the Serb isn’t starting for Newcastle.

Newcastle signed Mitrovic back in summer 2015, splashing out to bring in the Serbian who came with an eye for goal and hot-headed reputation. Fulham’s new star man has amassed an oddly impressive five red cards for a striker in his career at the age of just 23. However, it’s his goals that are putting him in the headline at the moment with Fulham, and Newcastle fans are pleased to see him back among the goals.
The ex-Anderlecht man is a shoe-in to go to the World Cup with Serbia and his current form in England’s second tier is doing nothing to harm his reputation. Despite his hot streak at Fulham though, he’s struggled somewhat at Newcastle, who have a rich history of employing some of the world’s best finishers. Either way, the Magpies will be hoping that on his return from Fulham and after the World Cup he can bring some goalscoring form with him to the North East.

If he keeps doing well, stays out of trouble and fully commits during training when he's back, who knows. Until then he is irrelevant to us as he's on loan, it's in the past.
