Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to seeing their side take on Reading tonight in the latest big game on their charge to the Premier League.
Indeed, we’ve certainly seen the Magpies kick up a gear in recent games as they’ve beaten Huddersfield and Brighton in impressive circumstances to tighten their grip on the trophy.
Rafa Benitez has to be credited for helping bring that big-game mentality along, then, and will surely have devised another game-plan for this one tonight, though Aleksandar Mitrovic appears to be out of contention.
The young Serbian forward is well liked in the north-east and many are hoping for him to come of age soon – especially now it seems Benitez may be getting impatient with him.
Indeed, journalist Lee Ryder has confirmed that Mitrovic is not in the squad tonight for Chronicle Live in light of Benitez’s press conference yesterday and Twitter has certainly had something to say about it.
