Michel Vorm has been getting plenty of stick from Tottenham fans on Twitter

On Saturday, Tottenham Hotspur looked to bounce back from their defeat at Watford before the international break when they hosted Liverpool at Wembley. It simply wasn’t to be, though, and they fell to a 2-1 defeat after shocking performances from a handful of players. Michel Vorm was one of them and the fans will be desperate to see Hugo Lloris get back in the side.

Michel Vorm had a big hand in both of the Liverpool goals against Spurs, as he flapped at a corner and allowed Georginio Wijnaldum to head home for Liverpool to take the lead before failing to hold the ball following a low cross from Sadio Mane. It’s unlikely that Vorm will be keeping his place when Hugo Lloris is back from injury and it will bring a lot of relief when the Spurs fans have Vorm back on the bench.

The Dutchman isn’t a bad goalkeeper at all and he was very impressive whilst he was at Swansea. However, it’s very difficult to go from sitting on the bench all season and then getting thrust in for a huge game against one of the most dangerous attacking sides in the world. There were some positive moments for Vorm but on the whole, the day was a poor one that he’ll be keen to forget.
