The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern are all coming to terms with the fact that Aleksandar Mitrovic will be sold this summer. The Serbian striker’s World Cup ended last night when he was subbed off in the 2-0 defeat to Brazil and now with the Magpies looking to cash in on him he can get the move to Fulham that he wants.
Mitrovic’s world cup ends. Subbed off. Made a good figure, maybe should’ve had a couple goals for during his matches. But someone will pay £20M for his services. Not a doubt in my mind. #nufc

Mike Ashley will want to get a pretty penny for the striker. With a good goalscoring record everywhere he’s gone and at the age of just 23, the fans can expect to see a fee in the region of around £20 million be coming in for the Serb. However, the fans are more worried about incomings this summer and will be holding out hope that if Mitrovic is sold upon his return that the money will be put straight back into new signings.
Mitrovic joined the club with the fans hoping he could be the club’s next famous forward. However, with disciplinary issues marring his performance and Rafa Benitez favouring other options, the striker was loaned to Fulham for the second-half of last season. In his time at Craven Cottage he quickly established himself as a fan-favourite and will be keen to make a return to the Cottagers this summer, with Slavisa Jokanovic more than happy to pay the required fee.

It’s ironic that we will hold out about £20m for him when in fact, we’d never pay that for a striker.

And the rest I'd say 25million after this world cup #goodfor #nufc

Still would ask for £25 he’s only 23

As you can see, the Magpies propping our bar up are more than happy to wash their hands of Mitrovic and will be hoping they can get a more compliant replacement in soon.
