The Newcastle United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are feeling rather nervous indeed. After a miserable time of things of late, our punters clad in black and white are starting to dread yet another relegation.
While Rafa Benitez retains the full support of the Toon Army, the fact that the club’s takeover is reportedly stalling has concerned our resident Geordie contingent. For a team so obviously short on quality, the idea of not having much in the way of money to spend in the January transfer market is a seriously scary one.
As you can imagine, there a lot of reports in regards to a potential takeover. For example, the Daily Telegraph suggest it’s in doubt, while the Daily Mail hint Mike Ashley would be open to a sale should Amanda Staveley and her backers make a £300m offer for the club.
Obviously, this is all very confusing for Newcastle fans, leading to some fiery reaction on Twitter. With that in mind, here’s a closer look at it.

And the first bid was 300 million. Hard to believe anything anybody says.
