More frustrating news for Newcastle United – Report

The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern are drowning their sorrows as it has been revealed that their club missed out on yet another summer target.

According to reports from the Turkish publication Hurriyet, Newcastle United made an offer of £6 million to try and sign Garry Rodrigues from Galatasaray in the summer transfer window, but the club turned it down.

The 26-year-old winger has managed two assists in the opening three league games in the Super Lig this season which has caught the eye of the Magpies’ frustrated manager, Rafa Benitez.

This failed transfer represents a frustrating summer transfer window for Benitez, where he missed out on a number of key targets amid suggestions he was unhappy with how things were working out at the club.

Rodrigues, who only joined Galatasaray in January of this year, is seen as a key component of the Turkish club’s plans for the season ahead.

The Landlord’s Verdict

Our landlord is still confused as to why Newcastle struggled so much to sign their top targets this summer.

They may not be the richest club, but they’re better off financially than any of the other newly promoted clubs.

That, mixed with having Benitez as their manager and the club’s history and our landlord cannot figure out why they struggled so much.

Perhaps January can hold more success for the Magpies in terms of bringing more players into the club and putting this difficult summer behind them.
