Aston Villa face a tricky summer ahead in the transfer market.
With Financial Fair Play restrictions limiting spending, the club may have little choice but to sell one of their top stars if they want to strengthen the squad.
Manager Unai Emery will naturally want to hold onto his key players, particularly if Villa secure Champions League football.
But one standout midfielder now appears ready to consider a move—potentially to a domestic rival.
Rogers Open to Leaving Villa
Morgan Rogers is “open” to a summer exit from Aston Villa, with several Premier League giants circling.
According to The Sun, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal are among the clubs long linked with the 23-year-old, while Manchester United are also understood to be keeping tabs on him ahead of the summer window.
Described as “fantastic” by Unai Emery, Rogers signed a six-year contract in November last year, but interest from top clubs has not waned.
Rogers is said to be motivated by the desire to play for a team consistently challenging for major trophies.
There is reportedly an understanding between Rogers and Villa management that this summer could be the right time to part ways. Any deal is expected to exceed £80 million and could potentially surpass the club-record sale of Jack Grealish to Manchester City in 2021.
On the pitch this season, Rogers has contributed eight goals and five assists in the Premier League, along with three more goal contributions in the Europa League. Should Villa fail to finish in the top five and miss out on Champions League revenue next season, retaining their prized asset could become virtually impossible.
Even if the Villans secure European football, Rogers could still be tempted by a move to a rival club, making his summer future one of the Premier League’s most intriguing transfer stories.
