The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are pretty divided at the prospect of Eric Dier joining the club this summer…
According to the Mirror, Man Utd are keen on a £40 million move for the Tottenham star – as the Red Devils look to prepare for a busy summer of transfers.
Whilst the move would certainly come as a shock, it is a deal that actually makes a lot of sense. Man Utd need a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick, and Dier would certainly fill that gap. Strong defensively and versatile, Dier would certainly bring a lot to the table for Jose Mourinho.
Whether Daniel Levy would let the midfielder leave for a Premier League rival is an entirely different story, though.
