In what will no doubt be a tough game for Man United today, the Red Devils will take on Blackburn Rovers of the Championship in the FA Cup.

Jose Mourinho has got United playing some good stuff of late, and they are on a long unbeaten run as they look to secure a place in the top four of the Premier League come seasons end.

Our United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are quietly confident the glory days can return to Old Trafford under the former Chelsea manager, and a lot of talk this week over at the jukebox has been around team selection for this weekend.

Mourinho will no doubt look to give some players a rest, or simply drop them from the team for one reason or another.

With this in mind, we have taken a look at TWO Man United players Mourinho could look to drop today…

Paul Pogba

It’s been a decent first season for the world record signing, but he might just be given the chance to rest against Blackburn today.

The Frenchman has been excellent for the most part, and despite not lighting up the stage as he did with Juventus, he has been efficient and gone about his business well.

He deserves a rest, and Mourinho could use today to be the game to rest up his star midfielder.

Antonio Valencia

Few would have anticipated the right back becoming one of the key men in the team for Jose Mourinho, but that is exactly what Antonio Valencia has become.

The Ecuadorian has been superb, and his engine up and down the right wing is second to none.

Valencia could well be rested today, with crucial Premier League games coming up and the full back integral to Mourinho and his plans.
