The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are discussing just how good life can be again as Jose Mourinho FINALLY begins to convince them he’s the right man to lead the club forward.
While the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ had endured a bumpy tenure in charge up until recently, our Red Devils propping up the bar are delighted about his work of late as the side finally begin to entertain at last.
Now, according to the Sun, our United supporting punters have even more reasons to smile.
They claim the Portuguese is ready to offer key midfielder Michael Carrick a new one-year deal, as he enters the final six months of his current contract at Old Trafford.
Despite his ageing years, the 35-year-old has proved an important member of the first-team this term and seems to help bring the very best out of world record signing Paul Pogba when paired with each other in midfield.
Talks are reportedly due to start shortly for a man who has won it all at the Theatre of Dreams during a glittering 11-year stint ever since he joined from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006.
Mourinho is said to have told top brass he wants to see Carrick’s deal extended and is thought to be a huge fan of the England international.
