Mourinho intervenes to prevent move for talented 23-year-old Man Utd man

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are well aware of how ruthless Jose Mourinho can be…

Jose Mourinho has proven to be a very difficult man to deal with so far this season – and it would appear as though Championship side Wolves have drawn the ire of the Portuguese boss more than most…

According to the Telegraph, Mourinho has blocked a loan move for 23-year-old goalkeeper Sam Johnstone from Wolves, with the Man Utd boss angry at the club for their treatment of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.

Borthwick-Jackson has spent the season on loan at the club so far and has rarely featured – with the Telegraph reporting that he looks set to return to Old Trafford in January.

With Mourinho disappointed at Borthwick-Jackson’s lack of game time, it would appear as though he doesn’t want to see a similar fate befell Johnstone – and so a move to Aston Villa is, instead, reportedly on the cards.

It isn’t the first time that Mourinho has held a grudge so far this season, with a number of Man Utd’s key stars falling on the bad side of Mourinho. Smalling and Shaw have both come in for criticism at some point this season. Mkhitaryan is another player that has been criticised by Mourinho, though he appears to have worked his way back into the Portuguese’s good books.

Our landlord thinks that Wolves may struggle to do any business with Man Utd anytime soon, though they will undoubtedly be hoping that they can mend a few bridges.
