Not much can cheer the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern up more than the notion of an exciting incoming, such is the nature of the club these days.
The Red Devils propping up the bar have watched their beloved club splash eye-watering amounts of cash over the few years, to little avail, though still get excited when a blockbuster transfer tidbit arrives at their feet.
Well, according to reports in the Daily Mail, United could be about to splurge once again.
They claim Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, who has been tearing things up north of the border ever since joining the Bhoys from Fulham over the course of the summer.
In fact, United are said to have scouted the lethal forward in action for the French U21 side recently, a game in which he bagged a brace against his English opposition.
Compatriot Anthony Martial was brought in last summer for huge money and has largely had a hugely positive impact at Old Trafford, despite his struggles of late.
Former Fulham forward Dembele has been in fine fettle himself ever since joining the Scottish champions, notching 14 goals in just 18 games during his stint there so far.
Mourinho is thought to have drawn comparisons between he and former Chelsea star Didier Drobga, a player who helped the Portuguese deliver huge success at Stamford Bridge.
Dembele himself is not thought to be in any rush to leave Parkhead in January, though United could reportedly embark on a more long-term approach.
Do Celtic really have any hope of keeping a hold of Dembele, long-term? Let us know below…
