The Manchester United supporters here in the Transfer Tavern appear to be back in high spirits, after a difficult start to the 2016/17 Barclays Premier League campaign.

Jose Mourinho has overseen a revival of fortunes with the Red Devils now the form team in the division, with many predicted a late season surge towards the Premier League’s top four.

United’s big guns have now started performing, much to the delight of their ardent fans here in the Tavern and they are hopeful that their team can maintain their form from here on in.

With January now upon us talk has turned towards the transfer market and many of the club’s fans here in the Tavern are predicting a couple more arrivals at Old Trafford this month.

Romelu Lukaku

The powerful Belgian striker looks set to play for a truly big club at some point during his career and why not Manchester United?

Mourinho could try and forge a reunion with Lukaku following their days together at Chelsea, which would represent a strange situation given that it was the Portuguese boss who flogged the striker from Stamford Bridge.

One United fan is sat enjoying a pint with his pals and he thinks that the Everton striker would represent a great signing for the club, stating that his Premier League experience would be a real asset for the Red Devils.

The Nottingham Forest youngster is yet to play for the first-team at the City Ground, although his performances for the development squads have alerted the Red Devils towards his potential.

Rather than risk blending someone into his squad this season, Mourinho could be tempted to secure one of the country’s hottest prospects instead.

One United fan is sat chatting to the landlord here in the bar and he is aware of Brereton, stating that he would be a cracking addition to the squad in future years and the club should do all they can to sign him.
