Mourinho must consider dropping 1 of these 2 players against St Etienne tonight

It’s a return to European action for Manchester United tonight, though not in the competition they’d have hoped for at all.

Jose Mourinho’s side, on a very good run of late, take to the Europa League this evening as they welcome Ligue 1 side St Etienne to Old Trafford, looking to progress into the next round. While this competition is barely the most glamorous, the Red Devils desperately need to start banking trophies while they can.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and the idea of winning some silverware is very appealing to our locals, so they hope the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ takes this game rather seriously indeed. Still, with the League Cup and the race for the top four very much on for United, perhaps he should tinker with his squad somewhat.

With that in mind, surely Mourinho absolutely must consider dropping ONE of these TWO players for tonight’s game.

Paul Pogba

Resting Pogba, who hasn’t entirely convinced this season, could be a wise move for the Portuguese. The Frenchman bases his game on intensity and the notion of him trotting out on a Thursday night surely isn’t the most appealing. With Michael Carrick able to hold and Ander Herrera able to push on, perhaps the most expensive player this world has even seen could afford to sit this out.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Much has been made about Marcus Rashford’s position at Old Trafford over the past few days and perhaps the England international should be handed a starting berth to prove he’s worthy of competing with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Considering his age, the superstar Swede should be managed accordingly.
