Manchester United are back with a bang and Red Devils supporters here in the Tavern are over the moon after a convincing win over Chelsea this weekend!

The Reds lined up perfectly to keep the Blues at bay and cut Antonio Conte’s lead at the top-of-the-table to just four points.

Our barman was seriously impressed with the threat United posed all afternoon and watched on as Chelsea failed to muster any real opportunities to take all three points back to London.

It’s been a poor couple of weeks for Antonio Conte’s side, who have struggled to keep up with the red-hot form being shown by Spurs in recent weeks as the Premier League title race looks set to go down to the wire.

But after the game at Old Trafford, what did we really learn from proceedings?

Rojo is revitalised under Mourinho

It’s been a long couple of years for Marcos Rojo at Manchester United, who has endured plenty of stick from some of our regular punters here in the pub.

But his stellar performance against Chelsea shows just how far he’s come under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford and how good a player who could infact prove to be.

Not bad for someone who has been tipped as one of the worst centre-backs in United history…

Herrera won the midfield battle

All eyes were on Eden Hazard before the game and what magic he could muster up to help his side blow away a United team who haven’t been at their best this season.

But he was outfoxed, out-thought and out-run by United midfielder Ander Herrera, who’s growing reputation here in the pub keeps rising.

He’s becoming a real fan favourite amongst supporters and after a superb performance against the Blues, you can see why.

Chelsea’s fate is still in their own hands

Chelsea’s wobble might finally start worrying their supporters lining the bar here in the pub, who have now seen their side lose twice in four games in the league.

The defeat against Palace was bad enough but they were completely outdone by Jose’s United, who set-up perfectly throughout.

But their fate is still in their own hands. They have a very manageable run til the end of the season and with a four point lead at the top-of-the-table, the Premier League is still there’s if they don’t falter too badly.
