Moyes & The Board Facing Another Onslaught From The Fans

Everton fans may worry they are fast building a reputation as a selling club. Since Rooney’s departure in 04, the likes of Joleon Lescott, Steven Pienaar, and recently Arteta have been snatched from Goodison by the Leagues bigger clubs.

This pattern has left manager Moyes uneasy, as he admits he will have probably lose more of his star players this summer. The People reports club owners have told Moyes that despite the £10 million recently received for Arteta, this summer they may also have to accept offers for their English Trio; Jack Rodwell, Leighton Baines or Phil Jagielka.

Everton fans have recently let their feelings be known, with protests against the ownership. Kenwright and the board had previously held a god relationship with fans and have been an example of committed and stable British ownership.

It may be a sign of the times that fans are no longer content with this such ownership. Mid-table is no longer acceptable for anyone. Fans have always been demanding, but now it appears anything less than an billionaire foreign owner is simply not good enough. However Everton fan’s should be careful what they wish for, as Blackburn’s current owners were greeted as big-money saviors just a year ago.

Meanwhile Bill Kenwright and the Everton owners point to the £35 million net outgoing over recent years. Despite the tight budget there has still been several big moneys signings, such as Heitinga for around £6 Million and Bilyaletdinov for close to £10 million, and a host of quality players coming in on loan.

However this facts and figures will do little to appease Evertonians, and little to dissuade the overall image of the club as one ripe for plunder by the top 4. More worrying still is the possibility that stalwart Moyes may be losing patience along with the fans. Losing Moyes would be a much bigger lose than any player that might leave this summer.
