The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking ahead to the summer transfer window with a real dose of excitement.

It’s been a tough season for Arsenal, and in truth, it’s been a difficult few years. This summer, though, everything could change.

If they’re able to win the Europa League, they could yet play Champions League football next season, and everything could very quickly develop if that happens.

Clearly, though, a major revamp is needed in every area of the club. Despite the attention placed on Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal playing squad needs to take some responsibility for the poor form, and our landlord thinks that a personnel rejig needs to happen this summer.

More specifically, a handful of underperforming players need to be sold, as Arsenal can’t afford to have as much deadwood as they have right now.

With that said, Arsenal should freshen things up by selling these 3 players this summer…

Petr Cech

Petr Cech has been a wonderful servant to Arsenal, and the Premier League as a whole, but perhaps it’s time for the Gunners to think about a succession plan.

There can be no doubting that his form has taken a nosedive this season, and given his age, it’s unlikely that he’s going to get much better if he remains at Arsenal.

The Gunners are entering a new era, and for that transition to take hold, they need to sell the old guard.

Calum Chambers

Calum Chambers is another player that just hasn’t been good enough this season.

Our landlord isn’t sure that he has ever had the quality to play for a club like Arsenal, and if the Gunners are to get back to the top of the table, they need to remove the deadwood.

Simply put, Arsenal aren’t going to win anything if Chambers is the main man in defence, and so selling him and bringing in a top-quality addition could do wonders for the Gunners.
