The Sun on Sunday seem to have a sensational claim for punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The publication have claimed that Arjen Robben will be one of the first targets for Louis van Gaal should he take the reigns at Manchester United as expected.
Of course as one of our punters notes, van Gaal knows Robben well from his time with the Dutch national side.
One of our punters makes the point that the United manager elect seems to be targeting players he knows well – not to mention players of the Dutch variety.
That is one thing that is causing issues with Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney, who is worried he will be placed out in the cold should the new boss take over with Robin van Persie favoured.
Not only that but as our landlord moves over to the pool table with another round of beers for punters, he makes the point that Bayern Munich may well be undergoing a summer of change with Pep Guardiola’s future uncertain at the club.
This of course makes us think that Robben could well be up for grabs.
