Some Newcastle fans on Twitter just don’t know when to quit. The Chronicle conducted a live Q&A with fans over Twitter where they answered fans questions about the transfer window and the upcoming season, however, one fan has had others groaning as the name Bas Dost was mentioned.
#NUFC Q&A LIVE: Is there any interest in Bas Dost? https://t.co/ZLRpmOFajk

It wouldn’t be a transfer window if Newcastle United weren’t linked to Bas Dost. The Dutch striker is always touted with a switch to St James Park and whilst he would probably thrive in the Northeast with the fans getting behind him every week, it’s one of those deals that will never happen. The 29-year-old is currently employed by Sporting Lisbon but could be one of a number of players cancelling his contract this summer.
It is true that the fans are keen to see a striker come into the club and Rafa Benitez is in the market for a new frontman but the idea of signing Dost is simply ludicrous. At the age of 29, the striker isn’t exactly one that can be depended on for the coming years and the wages would likely be too high for him anyway. The Geordies are probably going to move for someone along the lines of Danny Ings if they’re to succeed and most Magpies are sick and tired of hearing Bas Dost’s name.
With that in mind, here’s what the Newcastle fans on Twitter have been saying:
Been struggling to get this one over the line for 6 years now…

Just from the handful of tweets above you can see that the fans really are sick and tired of hearing Bas Dost’s name being mentioned with their club.
