Late last night on BBC Five Live radio, Ian Wright was one of the guests and when the topic of conversation turned to Newcastle United, the ex-Arsenal man was ready to tear into Mike Ashley. The 54-year-old pundit went in on Mike Ashley, questioning where the money at the club had gone and asked what Ashley has done for Newcastle as a city since he’s owned the club.

Ian Wright is often seen on Match of the Day alongside the likes of Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer and it seems that the issues surrounding Newcastle have really started to affect him, as he claimed he can no longer joke about it with Alan Shearer as it is ‘too close to the bone’. The Magpies will be delighted to see Wright joining the movement against Ashley and they’ll be keen to see the Sports Direct owner out of their club as soon as possible.
Wright is just one of a number of football’s big names to have spoken out about the issues at the club. He joins the likes of Kevin Keegan, Alan Shearer and Jeff Stelling to have spoken out about the plight that the club’s fans and the city have faced as a result of Mike Ashley’s ownership. The Geordies will be in a much better place when Ashley is out of the club and it’s up to the fans and the pundits to raise awareness about the injustices that Ashley is behind if they want to finally rid the club and the city of him for good.
