According to the Daily Mirror, Steve Bruce would become the Premier League’s lowest-paid manager should he take over at Newcastle United after the departure of Rafa Benitez.

The report states that Bruce would be set to earn six times less than what Benitez was earning to do the same job. Benitez’s annual wages of £6m is getting cut to £1m a year for Steve Bruce, although every place Newcastle finish above the drop zone brings a bonus of some sorts for the 58-year-old.
It’s also stated that Bruce is keen to ensure Graham Carr returns to the club as he knows that the former scout still possesses the contacts in Europe to bring in the right players.
This comes after former England chief Sam Allardyce told talkSPORT he’d rejected the chance to return to St. James’ Park, over a decade after the Mike Ashley regime sacked him in 2008.
