Newcastle fans have seen their side improve ten-fold in the second half of this season, and it’s been very enjoyable for the fans. However, it could all come to an end this summer, as a number of key men could leave. One of those is Ayoze Perez, and after his comments in The Sun, the fans believe he’ll be off if Rafa goes.

“In the summer there will be options. I can hear what is coming for me, what they offer me, but it doesn’t mean I am going to leave 100 per cent at the end of the season. It is going to be a difficult decision. It depends on a lot of things.”

We saw all of the brilliance that Ayoze Perez has to his game on show on Saturday when the Spaniard netted his first hat-trick in English football. Perez is playing his best football now that he’s got the likes of Salomon Rondon and Miguel Almiron to complement him, and his treble against Southampton is a testament to his ability as he’s become the Magpies’ 9th top all-time Premier League goalscorer.
That may not sound like too impressive of a stat, but he remains just 16 goals away from matching the record of Peter Beardsley, who has 47 goals in the Premier League for Newcastle United and sits in 2nd place. Should Perez have another season and a half at the club and remain until January 2021 then he should be able to overcome Beardsley, but that would rely on Rafa Benitez sticking around too.

Let's be realistic here, if they don't give Rafa what he wants then he walks and I could not blame him, there is no other manager capable of doing what he has done, and I don't think we will be as lucky next year in relegation.

The Magpies aren’t all convinced that Perez will stay, but they will all be gutted if he does leave.
