Newcastle head into their FA Cup third-round tie with Rochdale with an injury crisis on their hands.

The Magpies could be without as many as 11 first-team players for the trip to Spotland, with manager Steve Bruce needing a win to raise morale after a miserable loss.
Indeed, they lost all four of their games over the festive period, including heavy defeats at the hands of Manchester United and Leicester City.
The Leicester defeat came at a particularly severe cost, losing Jetro Willems, Javi Manquillo, Jonjo Shelvey and Fabian Schar to injury, leaving them playing with 10 men for a large portion of the second half.
It’s an injury crisis that could completely derail their season, but it’s not the first time this has happened to Bruce.
He’s had to deal with very similar situations in his former managerial roles, suffering from a long injury list while at Hull, Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa with fans posting photos of his previous comments throughout the years after he spoke to the Mirror about his current one.
What a strange coincidence. It’s almost like it’s the manager and his training that’s to blame🤔 @ChronicleNUFC @lee_ryder @MsiDouglas #nufc #bruce pic.twitter.com/eSWWEc3HEG

Some Newcastle fans believe their boss is to blame, here’s how some of them reacted to that record:
Frightening the fact he’s never heard of lessons learnt!!!!! #nufc
