A lot of Newcastle fans have been scouring the market for a realistic striker that they could sign this summer, and one name seems to have popped up: Danny Welbeck. The Arsenal striker has been knockout down the pecking order at the club as Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined last summer and the Magpies would love to see him at St James Park.
Given #nufc budget (and the issues Rafa talked about this week)…
…who would be the one striker you would love to see #nufc sign – and why?

If the 27-year-old did swap The Emirates for St James Park, it would be a superb move for all involved. Rafa Benitez would finally have that Premier League proven striker in his squad, Welbeck would be getting first-team football and Arsenal would have cashed in on a fringe player who ultimately wasn’t going to make a big impact on the squad anyway. However, there’s still the small matter of getting it over the line, which is never easy with Mike Ashley.
The club is currently being linked to a move for Salomon Rondon from West Brom. The Venezuelan striker was relegated with the Baggies last year and has a £16 million release clause that was activated when the side went down. However, the fans don’t want to see Rondon join and would rather see their cub go for a higher-profile target and one that hasn’t just been on the wrong end of a relegation. This has led them all to call for Welbeck and it would be a superb deal if it went through.

Never thought I’d say this, but….Danny Welbeck Think he’d score the most goals in our system

Danny Welbeck, but seeing as we’re on planet Del Trotter atm, anyone who knows what a goal looks like will do .

Welbeck knows the league, is in his last year of his contract, could do with playing first-team football and the Newcastle fans all want him. For many, this is a no-brainer.
