Paul Robinson has told Football Insider that he thinks Joelinton could take advantage of having no fans present after he scored in the 3-0 win over Sheffield United at St. James’ Park.
Indeed, the Tyneside club resumed their Premier League season in fine fashion and so did the 23-year old, following up from earlier goals scored by Allan Saint-Maximin and Matt Ritchie on Sunday.
It would have surely come as a welcome relief to the Brazilian, having failed to find the back of the net in the top flight since netting against Tottenham Hotspur all the way back in August.
Still, the £39.6m club record signing from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim would have hoped to score more than just the four times from 35 games in all competitions in the 2019/20 season, but his goal against Chris Wilder’s Blades could be a huge lift for them.

When asked by Football Insider if playing without supporters helped the striker, Robinson said:
“It could be a big advantage for him.
“There can be an expectation when you play at home and if things don’t go well it can become a weight on your shoulders and a burden.
“Football fans are more educated now than they have ever been and they can see when things are not right.
“The pressure may have been getting to him before the break.
“But he has got his goal in what is almost the start of a new season. It is now up to him to kick on.”
Indeed, Joelinton may now kick on from here without constantly having some members of the Toon faithful on his back during matches, as there would be no added pressure from them to find the back of the net.
However, the Newcastle supporters will be hoping that his goal on Sunday is not the final one that he scores in this campaign as he now need to show some sort of consistency to his game.

Nevertheless, having no Magpies present in the stadium may lead Joelinton to excel for the rest of the season at least.
